Meet Sasha

Because every justice-seeking vigilante needs a sidekick.

Some heroes wear masks.

Some carry weapons.

And some have four paws, soulful brown eyes, and absolutely no respect for personal space.

Sasha didn’t come into Kara Hunter’s life through a rescue organization, a careful adoption plan, or anything remotely sensible. She found Kara one night on the streets of Seattle, half-starved, filthy, and clearly running on nothing but the stubborn will to live.

At first glance, Sasha looked like trouble wrapped in matted fur. Too thin. Too trusting. One ear damaged from a life that hadn’t been kind. The other flopped over with the kind of crooked charm no amount of grooming could fix.

But then Kara saw her eyes.

Not just scared.

Not just hungry.

Hopeful.

And Kara recognized something in that broken, determined dog. Sasha knew what it meant to survive. To hide in the shadows. To keep going even when the world had done its best to forget you.

Kara hadn’t been looking for a dog.

Sasha didn’t seem to care.

From that night on, the scruffy stray became more than a rescued golden retriever. She became Kara’s shadow, her comfort, her alarm system, and, occasionally, her very opinionated sidekick.

Sasha may not understand serial killers, vigilante justice, or why humans insist on having conversations without snacks.

But she understands Kara.

And sometimes, that’s exactly the kind of hero a broken woman needs.
